Best chocolate cupcakes in Dhaka Bangladesh

Customer service at it's best! This is how I can describe Kiva Han's management, i.e. from staff to its owners.

Last friday, I sent a commendation thru their FB account and also suggested to offer more variety of pastries. To my surprise, when i visited earlier to have a quick break, I was welcomed by a wide selection of sweets.

If you have a sweet tooth and is craving for chocolate cupcakes, this is the place to be! It has a choco cream topping, the cake is moist and has a sweet chocolate filling. Triple choco delight!

I am a coffee addict and I will definitely recommend this one because it goes well with it, especially if it's black coffee less the sugar.

If you are curious about the price, it will only cost you 150 BDT per piece, good enough for the superb taste.

To my fellow expats (asian, american, australian, british, etc.), tourists and locals in Dhaka, Bangladesh you may want to check it out.

Cheers!

Glazed donut experience in Gulshan 2 Dhaka, Bangladesh

Glazed Donuts, Dhaka Bangladesh

If you are a fan of donuts such as Krispy kreme, Dunkin donuts (both originated from the United States) or J.Co donuts (Indonesia), if you live here in Bangladesh you might get thrilled with the newly opened 'Glazed'.

Glazed is 100% Bangladeshi franchise and a first of it's kind in the country. It opened on July 31, 2013 and so far it is selling like hotcakes!

I went there today to have my first bite, but man! waiting in queue is a challenge. People are really eager to try it out.

When i got my turn, I ordered Dazzled and Tiramisu flavor. After tasting it, I said to myself It is worth the wait! the cream filling inside of both flavors complements really well.

I can't blame why people will wait in long queues just to get a taste of this sinful yet tasteful snack. I will definitely return for more!

Rickshaws in Dhaka

Rickshaws in Dhaka
Traffic jams are really stressful, it affects your schedule, mood and overall it ruins your day. In most cities, the streets are flooded either by cars or motorcycles but here in Dhaka Bangladesh, the major mode of transportation is a rickshaw, they are everywhere and they seem to block every corner of the city.

They are considered nuisance to some, but to the majority of people who doesn't have other transportation options they are critical in their everyday living i.e. for work, school, and running personal errands.

Stressful for some but for the rest it serves its basic purpose.

Iftar in Dhaka Bangladesh - Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge Iftar buffet
Religion which is embedded in the culture, is one the defining attributes of a country. I am not muslim but I am amazed and I truly appreciate how deeply devoted the people are when it comes to their religion.

Here in Bangladesh if i got my facts correct, 90% are muslim. At this time of the year, for 1 full month they observe ramadan, which is regarded as one of the 5 pillars of Islam. Along with it, practicing muslims observe fasting from dawn until sunset.

After sunset, 'Iftar' is observed and done as a community event, with people gathering to break their fast together. I am privileged to be invited to join this religious observance, though I practice a different religion.

Being a part of it gave me a different perspective on people's faith, set of beliefs and traditions and what makes up the identity of a country.

Coffee Shop in Dhaka Bangladesh

Cafe Americano
I noticed a lot of European, American, Australian and Asian expats living in Dhaka. I suggest if you are looking for a place to hangout, you may want to try out Kiva Han. In my opinion it's one of the best coffee shops in the City. A decent meal can only cost you 290 BDT and for a good coffee about 160 BDT. It's a really fair price for a nice ambiance and good customer service.

I come to this place almost on a regular basis.

HB Tower First Floor, House-1/A Road-23, Gulshan 1, Dhaka Bangladesh.
